Evaluating WordPress plugins for Google Analytics

Site Kit

I’ve used this one on many sites. It’s extremely easy to set up, by connecting your google account and automatically creating a new Analytics property, or configuring the site with an existing property.

Pros

• Easy to configure
• Displays a “Site Kit Summary” stats widget in the WP dashboard.

Cons

• The analytics dashboard in WP can only be viewed by the admin who’s Google account configured the plugin. Not sure yet if it can be associated with multiple Google accounts, or if each WP user must login to their google account to see the stats dashboard.

GA Google Analytics

Pros

• Easy to configure- just paste in analytics ID

Cons

• No dashboard built in
